Goodwine Funeral Home Obituaries

Keith Reynolds, 1959-2018

Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, Ill. with Roger Mann officiating. He was born on July 18, 1959 in Vincennes, Ind., the son of Delain M. Reynolds & Gloria F. (Phillippe) Reynolds. He married Polly Wilson on April 16, 1983 and she survives.Keith was a 1977 graduate of Robinson High School and went on to attend Lincoln Trail College before graduating from the University of Illinois in 1981 with a BS in Mathematics. He went to work for Atlas Van Lines before heading back to college, earning a master’s degree from the University of Southern Indiana. While earning his master’s, he worked for the Daughters of Charity until 2007 before moving on to become a Senior Systems Programmer for Shelter Insurance.Away from work, Keith could often be found playing golf; few things brought him more joy than spending time out on the course. He was also a fan of sprint car racing and attended numerous races through the years.More than anything, he simply enjoyed spending time with his family. They would often play word games together, and these were some of the best times of his life, due in no small part to the fact that he enjoyed beating them.He also LOVED his grandbabies, as anyone who knew him could attest. The greatest goal of his life was to make his love of 34 years just silly happy - and that has much more to say about the type of person Keith was than who she is - they had a very special and unique kind of love.He was very quiet, but confident and incredibly funny around the ones who truly knew him. He had a heart of helping anyone who asked. That’s not to say that he didn’t have a stubborn side (he wouldn’t even think of playing a 20-point word on Words with Friends when he could wait and strategically crush you with a 50-point word).Keith was a critical thinker, and very detailed oriented and organized ...
